Yoghurt Painting @seabeach

Over the past few weeks the little guys have been showing a massive interest in all things messy. This was clear after our shaving foam shenanigans so we decided to run with it! Since then, the babies have explored gluck. (One of my personal favourites!) And what a hoot that was. I tell ya these guys don’t do things by half… they really went for it with the gluck, to the point where they were sitting in a tray full of the stuff!

Last week one of our mums let slip an activity she does at home with her little one. Once I heard it I couldn’t wait to try it and it couldn’t have presented itself at a better time! I was made aware of yoghurt painting. It’s so simple, so effective and is so rewarding to the senses. All you require is:

  • NATURAL YOGHURT
  • HERBS & SPICES OF YOUR CHOICE

I used turmeric which gave us a nice bright yellow, paprika which gave us a sunset orange and 5 spice which turned the yoghurt into a orange/brownish colour, gave it quite an autumnal touch! And finally the oregano which didn’t actually colour the yoghurt but it made it quite bitty which felt wonderful to touch. Don’t think for a second you are restricted to only these condiments. Use that imagination of yours and see what else you can think of!

What is the point of having senses if you don’t treat them once them in a while! Your senses are there so that you can experience a huge variety of smells, tastes, textures and sights. How dull would life be if everything tasted, smelt, felt and looked the EXACT same?? This activity really indulges all these senses so why not give it a bash.
