The toddlers at Rocking Horse have been out and about spotting the signs of Autumn over the last few weeks. Our adventures have included the local area, the figgy park, the nursery grounds and rosefield park but also further a field with outings to Newhailes, The Botanic Gardens and Princes Street gardens! These outings have given us a chance to see first hand what happens in Autumn with the environment around us and the weather. We have enjoyed picking up what has fallen of the trees – leaves and concurs! The toddlers now have more of an understanding of Autumn and a sense of feeling connected to the environment around them. The leaves we have collected have become very useful back at nursery tying in with our arts and crafts activities. We have used our leaves to make textured gluings, our own tree display and leaf printings which have given our room a very Autumn feel!
