The toddler room had been focusing on mini beasts this has lead us to the story of “The Hungry Caterpillar”, so we took a jaunt to butterfly World on Wednesday afternoon to find out more.
The children saw beautiful butterflies of all different sizes and colours (although some took more interest in the ants which attacked at snack time).
They were all super brave and touched and even HELD a snake called mask, a millipede and a TARANTULA called Poppy! The children were definitely braver than some of the staff.
We had amazing weather for the trip so enjoyed some time in the sun and got VERY hot in the bus!
We were all very tired on our return but a great day was had by all! We are now all looking forward to our own caterpillars which are in the room to turn in to butterflies, so we can release them into the wilds. We will make sure to post about the big release.
