Here at Seabeach we have been enjoying the fruits of our labour… Quite literally!
At the start of summer (yes, there was a ‘start of summer’ you missed it?, you must’ve blinked!) Anyhoo as I was saying, At the start of summer the biggies planted some (hopefully) fruits and veg. Whilst we are still waiting on our tomatoes, peppers, sweetcorn, carrots and potatoes, we have been able to enjoy our strawberries and boy have we enjoyed them!
Our Lavender is also looking and smelling beaut’ so we made use of this by making some lavender scented playdough. This made for great sensory play. We also made some herby playdough using the sage and basil that we had grown. This smelled like uncannily like pizza, certainly didn’t taste of it though as some of our curiously hungry biggies found out!
All these garden relatated shenanigans have been great although what we are really eager to see is our blueberries looking juicy and ready to devour. We did find a couple that were ripe enough to try but Kharim soon took care of those!
Whilst I’m on the topic of the garden have you seen our Bug Hotel? situated under our tree in the front garden this 5* insect accommodation boasts levels of bricks, pine cones, sticks, stones, mini plant pots and spacious muddy surroundings 🙂 … |No but seriously if you haven’t seen it you should have a peek. Ruaridh, Izzy and Connor helped construct it as part of our mini beast focus and they are pretty impressed with it, as are our creepy crawlie friends.
