As part of our ‘Animals around the World’ focus the Seabeach biggies went on a trip to Edinburgh Zoo!
For the first part of our wild adventure we had a class in the learning and discovery center. During this session we explored animals of the Rainforest, we learned how they live, the noises we may hear there, what they eat and lots more fun facts about all sorts of animals. What we were not expecting of this class though was to be sharing a room with a SNAKE!! (which we later got to hold and touch, along with his friend, the Giant African Land Snail)
The children really immersed themselves in not only this session but the entire trip! They remained engaged throughout the whole day exploring the enclosures, asking questions and using their imaginations.
This covered quite a few outcomes and experiences through the curriculum from social studies, health and well-being to science. This trip has been added to your child’s learning journal which the children themselves have seen.
