To mark ‘World Book Week’ the preschoolers were encouraged to bring along their favourite books from home to share with us. This has been, to say the least, an interesting time for us all! Have you heard of ‘No-Bot, The Robot who lost his bottom?’ … Nor had I but this hilarious story, brought in by Viggo, single handedly won book week for the Seabeachers! it had everyone in stitches!
To round ‘Book Week’ off we were invited up to Waterstones at Fort Kinnaird to enjoy a story, ‘The Dinosaur Who Pooped A Lot’ read to us by one of their staff. It was a really silly story and of course anything with the word ‘poop’ in it has the giggle factor for us! Afterwards we played games related to the book and there was even some Dino colouring sheets for us!
This was a fantastic experience for us which linked in perfectly to the literacy criteria of the Curriculum for Excellence.
When it was time to go we picked some books for nursery and made our way back to enjoy them.
