As we are learning about under the sea and sea creatures, today the preschool children visited North Berwick beach. We set off from nursery and got a bus to Waverly Train Station then set off in a train to North Berwick. It was so EXCITING! At North Berwick we went on the hunt on the sand and in the rock pools for small sea creatures. We were able to find lots of sea anemone’s, crabs, hermit crabs and also a jellyfish! The children were curious and asked what the Bass rock is, so we enjoyed discussing the Bass rock and the puffins that live there. Also as part of our planning this month, we are looking at signs in and around our environment, so on our walk from the beach back to the train station, we were looking for signs. The children spotted ‘Put your rubbish in the bin’ sign, green and red man. bus stops, rail way signs.
