What is art?… well as I type this I imagine your fridges, walls and possibly even office space adorned with your little ‘Monet’s’ masterpieces which I’m sure are all very beautiful and come with their own host of stories. This week we thought we would take that creativity outdoors and create some transient art! What is transient art though I hear you ask. ‘Transient’ in it’s simplest from is defined as ‘not lasting’ and that is exactly what makes this kind of art so special!
And so… off we went to our garden to collect some bits and bobs that we thought would create a beautiful picture. (petals and leaves were a hit with the girls, stones and grass for the boys) we drew a border on the ground and the children set to work making some fantastic pieces within them. The creativity was flowing for the duration of this activity as was communication as the children not only created their own pieces but worked together sharing opinions and ideas too.
A morning well spent if you ask me!
