This afternoon, the preschool children did their part in cleaning the community by taking part in a litter pick. The preschool children did very well sharing the litter picker, and also had great litter eyes for spotting rubbish down the Duddingston Road and also in the Figgate Park.
Taking part in the litter pick helped the children discuss the issues we have with littering in the environment. We discussed what we do with rubbish:
Jamie – “We recycle rubbish or put it in the bin.”
Willow – “We put our rubbish in the recycling bin so it can get turned into something else.”
The litter pickers were very good for the children’s fine motor skills, it was a little bit tricky to catch the rubbish.
