Last week carrying on from our topic ‘people who help us’ we received a visit from our local police officers. During this visit the children were very eager to ask questions such as “Do you have police dogs?”, “Why do you have a lady’s helmet?”, and “what kind of jobs do you do and why do you put people in jail?”. The police were very helpful explaining the job they do to keep us save. The children were lucky enough to explore the police uniform/helmets,police tape and police van and the siren.
Yesterday while at Rosefield park the Investigators noticed a tree surgeon up a tree and were very interested to find out what the man was doing. The children were asking lots of questions and staff were answering questions. such as ‘How did the man get up there?”, “Why are they cutting the tree down?” and “is he safe?”. The staff explained to the children that the tree surgeon had a special harness on which kept him save, as we all sat on the grass. The tree surgeon was happy to allow the children to watch and explore the tree bark in his van.
