At Rocking Horse we like to be involved with our local community. On Friday we took ourselves to the Figgate Park as ‘Friends of the Figgate park’ had organised some fun activities for children so we of course had to check these out!
The preschool and toddler children enjoyed pond fishing, badge making and story telling. Some of our keen fishers were successful in catching pond life on a small scale of water beetles and other fascinating creatures but unfortunately no fish. We used the reference cards provided to identify the different pond life that we had scooped up in our nets – this was very helpful!
After all our hard work we all took a much needed seat on the board walk and listened to some stories red by our friend from Portobello libraries Rhyme Time, the children were happy to see a familiar face! We all listened very well to the Gruffalos Child, Paper dolls and Little Rabbit Foo Foo!
