Today as part of our Autumn topic, the preschool children went to explore autumn at the Jack Kane Centre. We explored the leaves that were on the ground and even found the last of the fallen conkers! We came to the conclusion that all the squirrels have eaten the rest. We took a little walk around the trees and discussed that the pine tree’s don’t have leaves, they have ‘needles’ and we also realised that the needles are still green and not red, yellow orange and brown. After looking up on it back at nursery, we found out that pine trees don’t change colour, the only turn brown and that if they are going dry. we enjoyed picking pine cones from the ground just incase we bumped into a hungry squirrel. After a big walk and run in around the grass, we have even more fun playing in the amazing park. The slide was a bit wet so we didn’t go one that.. No one wanted a wet bottom. We had great fun, and will definitely go back.
