Personally I think we have been extremely lucky with the weather this summer. It may not have always been sunny but it’s been super warm down here at the seaside so these little guys have been making the most of it by visiting some of our near by hangouts. We’ve been to the Figgy Park to visit the ducks and the Daisy Park to kick about, see some dogs (as a couple of our babies cannot contain their excitement when we see them out for their walks) and discover the parks teeny tiny inhabitants.
These guys are a very independent bunch and are quite content exploring their surroundings at their own pace. I must say the walks we had round the Figgy Park did take quite some time but you don’t half notice just how beautiful everything is when going at their pace! And that’s because when you walk at their pace, you HAVE to stop and look at everything they are looking at. You HAVE to examine a flower or stick they may pick up and you explore, just like them without even realising it. By doing all this you take in so much more of what’s around you. I think we should all be just a little bit more like these Seabeach Explorers.
The Daisy Park is a regular haunt for us. We like it for it’s space, it’s tiny creatures and it’s daily visitors… the dogs of the Daisy Park! The first thing we do is get our shoes and socks off so we can feel the grass between our toes. The children will normally then head straight for the tiny slope and run up and down it till they can run no more. (Which is NEVER!) We always take some light reading with us which is great for when everyone is knackered and just wants to kick back. We investigate the flower patches to see who’s buzzing about and we are very good at NOT trying to catch these yellow and black critters. Almost every time we are there we find ladybirds so we take turns in holding them.
These guys love being outdoors. I feel confident in saying they enjoy it because, as you can see also, the smiles on their faces say more than words.
