Our Explorers thrive with the everyday resources thay have in the nursery. Here are some photos of them with the bicycle helmet clips in the garden (we now have luggage straps attached to the gates in the rooms so they have access to more clips), bottles filled with water and glitter and keys/keyrings in the […]
On Wednesday the Searchers and Investigators went for a walk to Figgate park and on the way to feed the ducks the children decided that they wanted to go through the woods with their magnifying glasses to search for mini beats. The children found snails, slugs ladybirds and spiders galore. The outing back packs are always ready for any […]
Well done to Gayle and Gillian – We have passed another Environmental Health Check (unannounced visit) with flying colours
Today seen the Searchers release their 4 butterflies after observing them transform from caterpillars to chrysalis to butterflies in their room. Of course there was only one place that the children wanted to release the butterflies to and that was Figgate Park. The children watched their butterflies fly off in the beautiful park.
Friday seen our school leavers graduate. They enjoyed a little party before the parents joined us for our graduation song ( as picked by the children ‘can’t stop the feeling’ from trolls) then it was graduation gift time for our superstars. These investigators will be missed by us all, most of them started their journey with […]
On Tuesday 30th May the investigators where invited to their very own garden party and interactive tour of Hollyrood palace. The children explored the palace gardens with the help of a tour guide named Bridget, they found the queens special bench. She sits on this while walking her dogs. The children had the opportunity to […]
Last week seen the whole nursery out in force to enjoy the sun. We had the garden doors open at 7.30am in the Explorers (the sand and water play was out, crates were being used for climbing/balancing) and the Searchers had their last block of enjoy-a-ball (more sessions will be arranged).
Yesterday the Investigators let their butterflies go in the Figgate Park. From the caterpillars arriving, the investigators observed the changes closely from little caterpillars, to chrysalis, to emerging butterflies and then beautiful butterflies ready to be set free. What a beautiful sight, watching the butterflies fly off in our favourite park.
Want to see what the Explorers get up to when they are in the nursery garden and on walks, well here are a few photographs. They feed the ducks/swans at Figgate Park, play at the park and explore to see what they can find (sticks, stones etc). Outside in the nursery garden its not always […]
Last week carrying on from our topic ‘people who help us’ we received a visit from our local police officers. During this visit the children were very eager to ask questions such as “Do you have police dogs?”, “Why do you have a lady’s helmet?”, and “what kind of jobs do you do and why […]
